چکیده
The microstructure and micro-texture in different areas of a friction stir (FS)-welded DP600 steel were investigated by means electron backscatter diffraction. volume fraction martensite non-polygonal ferrite was evaluated based on the image quality (IQ) parameter. Analysis grain boundaries revealed that sub-grain as well low-angle heat-affected zone (HAZ) (SZ) more than doubled compared to those base metal (BM). examination BM showed strong {112} < 110 > {111} 112 components with an intensity 4.6 times random texture. texture memory effect HAZ, reduced overall intensity. Within SZ, D1, D2 E shear together cube component developed. Formation these attributed transformation B R prior austenite, which are evidences continuous dynamic recrystallization mechanism SZ stir-welded steel.

Microstructure and Crystallographic Texture Characterization of Friction Stir Welded Thin AA2024 Aluminum Alloy
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a promising technique to join aluminum alloys without having problems encountered during fusion welding processes. In the present work, the evolution of microstructure and texture in friction stir welded thin AA2024 aluminum alloy are examined by electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) technique. The sheets with 0.8 mm thickness were successfully welded by frict...

Resistance spot welding (RSW) as a predominant welding technique used for joining steels in automotive applications needs to be studied carefully in order to improve the mechanical properties of the spot welds. The objectives of the present work are to characterize the resistance spot weldment of DP600 sheet steels. The mechanical properties of the welded joints were evaluated using tensile-she...

In the present research, friction stir welding (FSW) process was used for butt joining of pure copper plate to 316L stainless steel plate. Mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics of the joint were evaluated by microhardness and tensile tests as well as optical and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was found that microstructure of the weld nugget (WN) has fine grains where...

متن کاملInfluence of rotational speed on the development of microstructure in a friction stir welded 304 austenitic stainless steel
Friction stir welding was conducted on AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel sheet with dimensions of 100 mm × 100 mm × 2 mm. The FSW was performed at a welding speed of 150 mm/min and rotational speeds of 400 and 800 rpm. The results showed that high frequency of low angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) were formed through dynamic recovery in the thermo-mechanically affected zone (TMAZ). Higher amoun...
